Jesus is the good news!

He is the Messiah, which is a Hebrew word meaning "anointed one."

- Christ is the Greek word for "anointed one."

- Priests, prophets and kings were anointed.

. . . . . Jesus is a priest, prophet and king!

He is the Son of God.

He was with God before creation and was God - 1:1-2

He created all things - 1:3

He gives life - 1:4

He is the light of the world 1:4, 9

He is rejected by many - 1:10-11

He offers us new life - 1:12-13

He is the Word made flesh - 1:14

He is full of grace and truth - 1:14, 17

He reveals God to us - 1:18

Jesus was more than a good moral teacher; He pointed to Himself as the source of spiritual nourishment.

Jesus doesn't give us the option to simply admire Him; we either decide that He is a liar, a lunatic, or Lord.

Q: What more could He do to lovingly show us that one, true way? If you get to know Him, He will lead you to life.

This gospel, and this study series, are designed to introduce us to Jesus so that we might come to trust and follow Him, and find real, true life in Him.
